Thinking of great golf in Ireland, then try the lovely Woodenbridge Golf Club in Wicklow

Woodenbridge Golf Club is truly steeped in history and can only really be appreciated by visiting the clubhouse to view the many photographs and paintings that adorn the walls.

Located just over an hours drive south of Dublin, Woodenbridge Golf Club is situated in the beautiful Vale of Avoca. Two rivers, the Avoca and the Aughrim, sweep through the course creating many challenging and scenic holes. The course is set in a tranquil valley with woodlands rising steeply on all sides, creating a stunning visual impact. Small wonder then, that the Irish Times referred to Woodenbridge as the "Garden of Earthly Delights". This venerable old course was founded in 1884 and expanded to 18 holes in 1994. While not overly long, the combination of woodland and water can make for a challenging test. The Club's new clubhouse has full facilities, including a second storey bar and restaurant overlooking the magnificent panorama. Visitors are most welcome.
