Wetherby Golf Club

Linton Lane , Linton, Wetherby LS22 4JF

Lying to the west of the Market Town of Wetherby and nestling in the valley of the River Wharfe, Wetherby Golf Club, formerly a famous Race Course, has seen significant changes since its beginning in 1910. In 1919 it was redesigned by the legendary course architect Dr. Alistair MacKenzie, who was called in to make improvements and further develop the land available. His fee of 10 Guineas was money well spent as the course now offers a challenge to all levels of golfer. The design has incorporated the key features of the disused railway line built in 1876 and the River Wharfe, which borders it to the south. Both features add to the golfers enjoyment of this parkland course, which has few climbs and is regarded as one of the best in the area.
