Moor Allerton Golf Club

Coal Road, Wike, Leeds LS17 9NH

Moor Allerton Golf Club is one of the first UK golf courses to be designed by the famous American golf architect Robert Trent Jones. His others include Spyglass Hill, Hazeltine and Sotogrande. Featuring his trademark shallow bunkers, huge teeing grounds, lakes and large contoured greens, Moor Allerton is typical of Trent Jones’s work. And, with three loops of nine holes that all start and finish at the Clubhouse, enjoying this stunning Leeds-based golf course couldn’t be easier.

The length of the course can be varied by playing off the different daily tees (yellow, blue or white). However, length is not Moor Allerton’s biggest threat as there is water on 17 holes, 108 bunkers and multi-tiered American-style greens. Peter Alliss, the Club’s professional for many years, compared the greens at Moor Allerton with Augusta in his BBC TV commentary this year. A great compliment but, fear not, they may be fast but not that fast!

Recently awarded the GolfMark High Achiever status sets Moor Allerton at the forefront of the development of Junior Golf.
