Clones Golf Club is located in the idyllic setting of Hilton Demesne. Golf has been played over a nine hole course for over 80 years with an additional nine completed in 2001. The course is built on the limestone belt and as such it is extremely dry and playable all year round.
In addition to its deserved reputation for the quality of the greens, it is a haven of tranquility with nothing to interfere with the player's concentration but the sounds of the surrounding wildlife and the spectacular views of the nearby drumlins. The layout was designed with the needs of the discerning golfer in mind and provides a stern test of golf with many subtle difficulties but nothing that the average golfer cannot overcome and enjoy.
