Ballinrobe Golf Club

Cloonacashel, Ballinrobe

The Club was founded in 1895 and this championship course was designed by Eddie Hackett. It is set in 300 acres of mature woodlands and the layout incorporates seven man made lakes with the river Robe flowing at the back of the 3rd and 5th greens.

One of the feature holes at Ballinrobe is the 365 metre par 4 10th. The golfer tees off beside the medieval tower house with out of bounds on the left. From an accurate drive a well hit medium iron will find the centre of an island green. Ballinrobe is full of charm and character, typified by the 19th century period residence now used as the clubhouse. It has recently added a 12 Bay flood lit driving range to its already impressive practice area.

“The finest championship course in the west of Ireland” Padraig Harrington.
