Founded in 1887, Dunfermline Golf Club club's home is at Pitfirrane, the ancestral home of the Halkett family. The course is gently undulating parkland with no steep hills. Fine views south over the Pentland hills. Course designed by JR Stutt who worked with James Braid. The Clubhouse is a category 'A' listed 15th century tower house. Dunfermline is home to Robert Lockhart and John Reid who took golf to America in 1888.
