The East Renfrewshire Golf Club

Pilmuir, Newton Mearns, Glasgow G77 6RT

The East Renfrewshire Golf Club, founded in 1922, is a moorland course designed by the great former Open Champion James Braid, who also designed the King's and Queen's courses at Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire.

At 6,097 yards, par 70, the course may sound short, but this is deceptive, as the undulating fairways and elevated greens always demand at least one extra club.

The course is widely regarded as one of the most attractive in the West of Scotland, with spectacular views to Ben Lomond and beyond on a fine day. Most fairways are now lined with mature spruce trees, adding further to the appearance and challenge of the course.

A major clubhouse renovation was carried out during the year 2000, including a dedicated new locker room for visiting parties and greatly enlarged lounge, where visitors can expect a warm welcome with excellent catering.
