Portlethen Golf Club

Badentoy Road, Portlethen, Aberdeen AB12 4YA

The course was opened in 1990 and is blessed with many natural parkland features. The par 5 4th hole is a classic example of percentage golf; whether to lay up short of the burn, 90 yards out from the green, or to attempt the carry to set up a birdie chance.

Arguably it is the fifteenth which is the signature hole at Portlethen. Firstly the tee shot has to be placed accurately to cope with the right to left dog leg and then the approach shot, from a downhill lie, has to carry the Findon burn which, moat like, guards the entrance to the green. Course development has seen extensive tree planting, the restoration of drystone dykes, the construction of stone bridges and a pond created at the short 5th. There is an extensive practice area and range. Portlethen is obviously a club which believes in providing the best possible facilities for member and visitor alike.
