Portarlington Golf Club

Garryhinch, Portarlington

Portarlington Golf Club was founded in 1908 and is set in parkland in the townland of Garryhinch. Once part of the Warburton Demesne, it is situated about two and a half miles from Portarlington town.

In 1987, the Club embarked on an ambitious programme to extend its course to 18 holes. The new development, which cost in the region of £300,000, converted an already beautiful 9-hole into a magnificent 18-hole course which compares with the best in the country. A brand new club house was officially opened in May 2001 with full bar and restaurant facilities in luxurious surroundings. The excellent presentation of the course starts at the entrance and is maintained for the entire 18 holes. Designed by Eddie Hackett, this enchanting venue is a haven for wildlife, much of which is in evidence as golfers roam the fairways.
