Cockermouth Golf Club

The Clubhouse, Embleton, Cockermouth CA13 9SG

The course is laid out over fell land to the east of Cockermouth and is easily accessible from the A66 cross Pennine road. At 5496 yards the course is not regarded as long. Nevertheless it provides a stern test for the discerning golfer, particularly when the prevailing south westerly wind blows.

One positive feature of the course is the panoramic views it offers. Looking back from the fourth tee one can see Bassenthwaite Lake with the well known Skiddaw Fell in the background.

Walking down the 10th fairway one can look over Cockermouth town to the Solway Firth and beyond to the Dumfries and Galloway coast. From the same fairway and on a clear day it is possible to see the Isle of Man. A warm welcome awaits all visiting golfers in the friendly clubhouse.

Restrictions: Play Mon - Fri except between 10.00-11.30 am & 4.30-6.00pm. Play Wed 8.30am-10.00am. Please telephone club in advance to make a booking, at all times are subject to availability.
