Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club has become one of the most admired courses in Ulster in recent years. Members and visitors enjoy one of the most pleasant parkland tests in the country. At 5763 yards it is not excessively long but has been so constructed by architect, P.C. Carr, that it requires every club in the bag.
As with all good courses it is pleasing to the eye as all the fairways are tree lined and mature. The fifth hole at almost 500 yards around Lough Alan, with the clubhouse towering in the background, creates a magnificent setting which is complemented by excellent views of the Finn Valley and the surrounding Donegal Mountains. Extensive drainage and improvement works have left the course playable almost all year round, with all the greens conforming to USGA specification they have been noted as among the best greens in the North and West of Ireland.
