Bala Golf Club

Penlan, Bala LL23 7YD

Bala Golf Club was relocated to Penlan in 1928 from the banks of the river Dee, where flooding made playing practically impossible during the winter months.  Nature provides the necessary hazards and difficulties of a more interesting and certainly more varied kind than the usual man made hazards on the average seaside course. The designer of this course, Syd Collins, the well known North Wales pro of Llandudno made the most of the natural advantages offered by the site.

Therefore, whether you are a Tiger or merely a beginner you will find the tests of skill intriguing without being too exacting. Naturally, the air up here is extremely bracing and imparts wonderful vigour to the most timid tyro. First impressions might make visitors think that difficulties would be encountered at every shot, but they will be pleasantly surprised to find, that in any case, a well and truly hit ball with the appropriate club is rewarded with a good lie.
