Imatra Golf Club was founded in 1986 and the beautiful park-like course on the land of Immalanhovi, designed by architect Kosti Kuronen, was opened in August 1987. The 18-hole golf course is in the best possible location, in the Karelian landscape, on the shores of Lake Immalanjärvi. Lake Immalanjärvi can be seen from several fairways. The field is a park field.

The course itself is dimensioned to provide a framework for all levels of play. The course is very demanding for top players but offers the club player the opportunity to play safe bogey. The environment and Lake Immalanjärvi next to the field have been ingeniously taken into account in the design of the field. A good challenging example of this is hole 8 - a short par third where the ball is hit on the green over the bay of the lake. From bus 8. Green you can even see Russia, on the other side of Lake Immalanjärvi.
