Open all year round, the Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club complex, consisting of the Golf Club and the Resort, is located in Tuscany on the sea coast within the Tirrenia Dune Oasis, in the Ape pine forest - a protected natural area within the Migliarino - San Rossore - Massaciuccoli Natural Park - and can be reached in just a few minutes from Pisa and its airport, as well as from Viareggio and Livorno.
The championship course - 18 holes, par 72, 6291 mt. - has undergone a restyling by the architect David Mezzacane and is set in an uncontaminated natural context of 70 hectares, within Mediterranean scrub and maritime pines.
Its design, technical and never monotonous, puts the player to the test as he is faced with numerous water obstacles due to the ponds and canals that dot the course while the bunkers are strategically placed to make the game more competitive.
The most challenging holes include hole 5, a short par 4 that requires rationality of play due to the fairway between two lakes on both sides, hole 6, a par 3 bordered entirely by water and the delicate hole 15, a par 5 where the water still dominates, forcing the player to assess the placement of each shot with great precision. Finally, the final holes - both 9 and 18 - are two par 5s with water all along the fairway and also on the green: tactics are the key to tackling them, especially in a south-westerly or north-westerly wind.
The Club House designed by Aldo Rossi, first Pritzker Prize winner and master of Italian architecture, is a prestigious and functional building whose rational lines recall the famous past of the area now dedicated to green, where the Pisorno film studios were established in the 1930s.
The Cosmopolitan Golf & Beach Resort has 42 modern and comfortable flats with balcony or garden. All units are equipped with a kitchenette, independent air-conditioning system, DSAT TV and WI FI internet.
There are two swimming pools, one of which is scenic and suitable for families, overlooked by the restaurant, and the other Olympic size, where you can swim freely after a game of golf.
